Your next opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Survey Officer to join Dungog Shire Council’s Infrastructure and Assets directorate. You will work as part of the Engineering Team to ensure the provision of quality services for survey and set-out of civil projects within the shire.
In this position, you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of Council’s surveyor. Other duties include basic design works, the supervision of minor works, and asset data collection.
Essential selection criteria include (full criteria in the Position Description below):
- Diploma qualifications in Surveying and minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid engineering survey knowledge with civil infrastructure, i.e. roads, drainage, etc.
- High level of computer literacy, including demonstrated experience using Survey software (12D, AutoCad, etc.) and the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Demonstrated experience using Survey Total Stations and/or GPS equipment
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including reports and written correspondence
- Understanding of WHS and risk management principles
- WorkCover WHS Induction Training for Construction Work (White Card)
- Class C Driver Licence

This position is evaluated at Grade 9 of Council's Salary System. The salary offered is in the range of $81,541 to $91,722 per annum (plus market allowance) plus 11.5% Superannuation, dependent upon competency level and in accordance with Council’s Salary Policy.
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working a 35 hours per week with 1 rostered day off every 3 weeks.
