Your next opportunity

As our Traffic Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Council’s signs, guideposts and traffic counters, setting out line marking for roads, ordering materials, following standards, operation of plant and equipment, and acting as relief store person. You will complete general construction and maintenance duties, including labouring associated with Council’s infrastructure.

To be successful, you will have experience in the road maintenance and construction industry with a passion for safety and quality.

Essential criteria include (full criteria in Position Description below):

  • Class C Driver Licence
  • Qualifications in Traffic Control, including Implement Traffic Control Plans
  • Experience in the install and maintenance of signs and other roadside furnishings and markings
  • Sound knowledge of relevant signage standards and installation requirements
  • Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Computer skills

On-the-job training includes:

  • White Card
  • Class MR (or higher) Driver Licence
  • Working Near Overhead Powerlines Qualifications
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Chainsaw Operations
  • Forklift Operation
  • Procurement Operations
  • Qualifications for other plant and equipment

Be rewarded

The salary offered is in the range of $64,000 to $72,000 per annum (inclusive of Superannuation) plus allowances, dependent upon competency level and in accordance with Council’s Salary Policy.
This position is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis with the benefit of a 38-hour, 4-day working week, ongoing training and professional development, with most team members working between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
