Your next opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our team. This role will be offered on a permanent, full-time basis at Dungog. Reporting to the Section Manager Development Services, you will assist to shape the future of Dungog through assessing the engineering components of proposed developments and supervising relevant works relating to subdivision civil works packages.

Essential criteria include (full criteria in Position Description below):

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying, or other suitable qualification relevant to the field of expertise
  • Demonstrated customer experience focus
  • Demonstrated professional written and oral communication skills, including sound organisational and computer skills with the ability to effectively interact with a range of customers and other stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Knowledge of subdivision/urban and rural planning and design principles and associated assessment of development applications for subdivision and engineering works under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
  • Knowledge and experience in Road Act 1993 Approvals and Section 68 Approvals under the Local Government Act
  • Knowledge of and experience in the use of Australian Standards, guidelines, manuals, and codes applicable to engineering design and construction
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Class C Driver Licence

The position is placed at Grade 13 of Council’s salary system. The salary offered is in the range of $121,000 to $137,000 per annum (inclusive of Superannuation, 8% market allowance and civil liabilities allowance), dependent upon competency level and in accordance with Council’s Salary Policy. Further market allowance may be available for highly qualified applicants.  

A leaseback vehicle with private use component is also available for this position. This role works a 19-day month with 1 rostered day off (RDO) every 4 weeks.
